Shivera

He Always Feels Cold

Little Shivera, who represents feeling cold, was the most popular of the WeatherGens.  He was played by a then 9 year old lad called Jason Wong, from Bromley in Kent.  Shivera's ident was the first to be shown, on 11th November 1996 and heralded the start of the WeatherGens era!

During filming, Jason's face was painted blue, he was dressed in a big suit of blue ostrich feathers and required to sit on a vibrating chair to make him shiver!

At the time of filming, Jason was attending Greenhayes School in West Wickham where his favourite lesson was art.

Jason is now an actor, who has starred in numerous plays, such as Romeo and Juliet in the Tybalt Theatre.
He also went on to star in the CBBC programme "Spirit Warriors," as "Howler," last year.  I got in touch with Jason's agent recently, who passed my message on to him so I'm hoping that he gets in touch soon.  It would be great to hear from Shivera's alter-ego!

In my books, Shivera acts as a messenger to the animals, warning them of winter and telling them to stay warm and safe.  He shivers all year round though, even during heatwaves.  Being so small and cute looking, the other WeatherGens tend to treat Shivera like a child, which annoys him sometimes.  Cyan is very fond of Shivera and sometimes assumes the role like that of a big sister, keeping an eye on him.  Shivera is a bit of a worrier, always fretting about things.  He is scared of Norwin.
